Tampering of telemetry system data at dispatch control center
Event description
Hackers attacked the dispatch control center and managed to spoof data in the telemetry system. The system collects electricity consumption data and adjusts energy generation based on it. As the hackers made the control monitors display misleading information, dispatchers were unaware of the energy shortage. To reduce the load on the system, the relays automatically cut off some consumers from the power grid.
